Bet365 Bets Big on Denver Headquarters With $135 Million One Platte Purchase

Denver was chosen by bet365 as the location for its US headquarters in September, and its main office is at 1701 Platte Street.  Since then, the office facility has been acquired by One Platte, a massive iGaming and sports betting company based in the United Kingdom.

The London gaming operator just agreed to pay $135 million to acquire One Platte, according to the Denver Business Journal.  The almost 249K-square-foot skyscraper is being sold by the San Francisco-based real estate investment group Shorenstein.

The office building is LEED and WIRED certified and almost fully occupied. It is located on Platte Street along Interstate 25 in downtown Denver, one of the city's most active and dynamic business districts.  The building has two retail stores, a fitness center with showers and locker rooms, a lobby area, and a multipurpose event center in addition to office space.  Commons Park is within walking distance, as are many eateries and apartments.

At One Platte, Bet365 takes up 119,300 square feet.  The building was 88% leased as of April.

The US Business of Bet365

One of the most well-known bookmakers abroad is Bet365.  In the US, the business has struggled to obtain market share and recognition against industry titans in sports betting, such as FanDuel and DraftKings.

Denver continued its attention on the emerging US sports betting business by offering bet365 tax credits totaling more than $14 million spread over eight years.  Since opening its One Platte office last fall, Bet365 has already created hundreds of employment in the capital of Colorado.  In the upcoming years, the company hopes to employ almost 1,000 people in Denver.

Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia are among the 13 states where Bet365 holds a sportsbook license.  Additionally, the business provides iGaming in Pennsylvania and New Jersey via the bet365 app.

In May, Casino.org stated that BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook are losing ground to bet365 and Fanatics in the online sports betting sector.

The nonprofit Sports Betting Alliance, of which Bet365 is a member, works to persuade state legislators to enact laws governing online sports betting and casino gaming.

Pact for Indiana Fever

In related news, bet365 said today that it has reached an agreement with the Indiana Fever to serve as the WNBA team's Official Sportsbook Sponsor for the 2025 campaign.

"We’re excited to team up with bet365 and bring fans a premium mobile sports betting experience,” said Fever Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Amber Cox. “This partnership is all about creating more ways for fans to connect with our team from tipoff through to the final buzzer.”

Because of Caitlin Clark, the Fever are the most watched and bet WNBA club.  Due to a left quadriceps strain, Clark, the all-time top scorer in NCAA Division I, has been out since late May.

According to the press release, the sportsbook is able to provide "fan-focused features that will be integrated across the Fever's media and game day experience" because of the bet365 agreement.
